Last night, I set up a simple table on the streets of downtown Macon, ready with a stack of trivia questions, a few fun prizes, and a heart full of excitement. My official goal was to spread the word about next weekend’s Trivia Trail—but as the evening unfolded, I was reminded that my true purpose runs much deeper.
People wandered over, curious and smiling, eager to test their knowledge and win a prize. But what started as trivia quickly turned into conversations about so much more. We talked about hidden gems tucked into side streets, about delicious dishes waiting in cozy restaurants, and about art galleries brimming with local talent. Some folks needed directions, others just wanted suggestions on where to grab a drink or experience something new.
Each of those conversations lit me up inside. Because at the core of what I do—through Macon Me Wander—is a simple mission: to connect people to the heartbeat of our downtown. To help locals and visitors alike discover the businesses, experiences, and stories that make Macon special.
It’s why I created the Trivia Trail in the first place. Next Saturday, we’ll explore downtown through trivia, laughter, and adventure. We’ll visit local spots, support small businesses, and share the joy of discovering new places together. Tickets are still available, and I’d love for you to join us!
But even if you don’t make it to the trail, I hope you’ll come downtown soon—wander a little, talk to someone new, and let yourself fall in love with Macon all over again.
Because it’s not just about events or trivia or prizes. It’s about connection. And last night reminded me that connection is the very best prize of all.
